On Wednesday, December 19, 2018, SVEConnect pulled fiber across Interstate 24 to make the connection to Kimball. The fiber crossing took much coordination from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Service Electric and SVEConnect fiber crews. Crossing I-24 was a lengthy process that required permits, much planning and stopping traffic east and west bound on I-24 for about 15 minutes.
The next step to get Kimball customers connected to SVEConnect's fiber optic network will be splicing the fiber, which should take a few weeks. The first Kimball customer can expect to have the 200 Mbps or 1 Gigabyte service and add-on video and voice service, by mid-January, but should call or come in to the office now to get on the installation list.
